Conditions for windsurfing

Kadikalesi is a very safe bay for windsurfing due to the cross on-shore conditions.

Mornings are the ideal time to learn to windsurf, when there is a light breeze blowing and flat water. The water is waist deep as far as 100 metres from the beach.

The wind usually picks up in the afternoons, allowing more advanced windsurfers onto the water. This is a result of the wind funneling from the island opposite the beach and over the large hill at the end of the bay. The strong winds mean you can be planing the moment you step on the board and there are waves to jump just 20 metres from the shoreline. It is the perfect place in Turkey for both improver and advanced windsurfers.
